Hello SWSC Alpine participants -
As hard as it is to believe, we’ve reached the end of the SWSC Alpine season 😢 We are amazed at the progress all athletes have made in their skiing! I will continue to communicate with the whole club on roughly a monthly basis via Team App regarding the 25-26 registration timeline and other SWSC items.
Training this weekend will be light and focused on SL skis and soft snow skiing. Our season of fantastic snow may wrap up with some wet weather, so if you plan to attend training this weekend please prepare athletes adequately. Note that there is no PM training on Saturday in alignment with other competition programs so that all can attend the Sunbowl bash in the upper parking lot.
A few times requiring attention before we get too far away from snow:
Camps: Recommended summer and fall camps are linked below (and discussed in my prior message on this topic):
SMS Hood, Stratton, Winter Park:
https://www.gosms.org/athletics/nextgen-campsprogramsDJSR Big Snow:
https://dontjustski.com/Camp grants: The Stratton Ski and Boards Club has a limited number of need-based $500 and $750 grants available to help support SWSC athletes attendance at camps. We also have two $325 VARA scholarships for U12 skiers (2014 and 2015) to support camp or program costs. Please reach out to me as soon as possible if you are interested in either of these opportunities.
Store/Swap: We will likely close the online retail shop and the online swap next week and reopen them in the late spring to early summer.
Look out for forthcoming communications this spring regarding the registration process and timeline for 25-26!
