Hello SWSC Alpine -
Tomorrow’s full-club fun race will run within our normal program time, with break for all groups from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Meet in the base or at Mid-Mountain according do your group’s normal routine. Plan on cold temps – skiers may wear race suits and drop jackets if they are warm enough, please keep passes present at all times. With rain currently falling and a fast freeze coming in tonight we will check surface conditions at 8am to see if any adjustments to the plan are necessary.
All groups: SL skis and gear for our first ever Dual Kombi fun race! This race will combine panel gates, stubbies, brushes and tall SL poles. Races who cross-block may bring protection; younger racers who do not cross block should wear their hard-ear helmets. No registration is required as this will be a no-bib, no-timing fun race.
Plan for the day: U14 and older skiers and coaches will be working together to set a fun course using a mix of stubbies, tall pole, brushes, and panels. The emphasis will be on creativity, fun and showing off our short turn skills! Racers can choose their partners for each run from their normal training groups or can find siblings or coaches to challenge.

After the final run on Franks around 1:30, we’ll meet at Mid Mountain deck for our annual SWSC Season Awards. We recognize skiers in each age group in the areas of Most Improved, Most Accomplished (race results), and Coaches’ Award. This year we’re also excited to introduce a new set of awards for coaches! We look forward to celebrating with you on the deck and recognizing the amazing efforts of our athletes and staff.
Early next week I’ll be in touch about end of season items like need-based camp grants, coach appreciation, and spring/summer communications and program sign-up timelines. See you on Franks tomorrow – bring your cowbells!
